A unique collection of marble and limestone fireplaces from Acquisitions of London, is exclusively represented in Gloucestershire by FireStyles. Founded in 1971, Acquisitions began life as an architectural antique business but soon specialised in rescuing beautiful antique fireplaces that had been extracted from their home in the name of fashion. As suitable originals became scarcer, the company set about the ambitious task of replicating Victorian cast-iron fireplaces and were proud to lead the way in restoring the period mantelpiece to its rightful place in the British public’s consciousness.

Today, the Acquisitions collection of what they term ‘continuations’ rather than ‘reproductions’ is recreated using authentic skills and techniques, employing materials from marble to cast-iron, and encompassing every style from Georgian to modern-day. Acquisitions offer a made-to-measure service and also undertake commissions to clients’ specifications.

As well as marble, limestone and cast iron fire surrounds, Acquisitions also offers accompanying cast-iron inserts, fire baskets and fire dogs to suit these. Moreover, gas and electric fires are available for most of their cast iron inserts and baskets with either manual or remote control. All fires are offered in both natural gas and LPG versions. Their unique burner design with means that the very latest, safety-conscious heating technology can be installed in all of their inserts and baskets to go with their mantelpieces.
